Welcome to Big Ambition Studio And a Little Bit About Me!

Hi, I’m Kelly 👋

Photography wasn’t some grand master plan for me. It actually started back in 2009 when my husband bought me a camera. It was meant to be a bit of fun, something creative to play with.

I had no idea it would completely change the direction of my life.

Falling in Love with the Chaos

I don’t actually shoot a lot of studio work myself. My background is events, PR and behind-the-scenes. There’s something about the hustle and bustle of events that just feels electric. The quick decisions. The pressure. The access. The storytelling happening in real time. Capturing moments people don’t even realise are happening. The nerves before curtain up. The laughter backstage. The organised chaos.

That energy still excites me.

But like most creative journeys, things evolved. And if there’s one thing about me, I don’t tend to just build one business.

The Other Businesses…

Alongside photography, I co-run an insurance brokerage with my husband. We’ve built that together over the years into something stable and trusted.

I also run Books for Twins, because as a twin mum myself, I saw a gap in the market for books that actually celebrate twin life properly. What started as a personal need turned into a published product range and a growing community.

I’ve always been someone who spots gaps and thinks:

“Why isn’t this a thing yet?”

Which brings me to the studio.

Why I Started Big Ambition Studio

A friend asked me to shoot some headshots for her agency. Simple job. We just needed a clean, professional studio space.

I assumed it would be easy to find something locally. It wasn’t.

London prices were eye-watering for what we needed. We didn’t need a huge production space just something simple, professional and affordable.

The closest thing I found that felt right was down in Romsey near Southampton. It was self-service, relaxed and fairly priced. And I remember thinking:

Why don’t we have something like this nearer to Fleet?

Then life did that thing it sometimes does. When we were looking for new office space for the insurance company, we found the perfect premises. And there was room.

Room to build something. Room to solve the problem I’d experienced myself.

And that’s how Big Ambition Studio was born.

Why It’s Self-Service (And Why That Matters)

I designed this space for creatives who just need somewhere professional to work without the London price tag and without feeling like they’re being watched.

When you book the studio, it’s yours.

Bring your clients. Bring your makeup artist. Bring your hair stylist. Bring your chaos.

The dressing room provides a private, safe space for models. The kitchen is help-yourself, tea, coffee and yes, always biscuits. The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming and intentionally not intimidating.

I want people to feel at home here.

I want you to walk in and think:

“This works.” “This feels professional.” “I can build my business here.”

Not Just for Photographers

This isn’t just a photography studio.

It’s for content creators. Videographers. Small business owners who need to film reels. Personal brands who need a clean backdrop. Coaches recording courses. Creatives building something brave.

If you need space to create this is for you.

Fair, Affordable, Ambitious

Big Ambition Studio isn’t about squeezing every penny out of creatives. It’s about fairness.

It’s about affordable rates that don’t make you feel ripped off. It’s about access. It’s about removing barriers.

Because I’ve been the person looking for space. I’ve been the one trying to make things work. I know how expensive it can all feel when you’re building something from scratch.

And the bigger dream?

More self-service studios. More accessible creative spaces. More opportunities for people to build their businesses without feeling priced out before they’ve even begun.

Big ambition doesn’t have to mean big overheads.

It just needs the right space to start.

If you’ve read this far, thank you.

Whether you’re a photographer, content creator or small business owner, I’d love to welcome you into the studio.

Come and build something here.

Kelly x
